HOT TOWN, Summer in the City!

So the thing about summer is that it turns the heat up both outside and in. In Ayurveda, the basic idea is to bring balance with more cooling, drying, and grounding in and around your body.

PITTA BALANCING TIPS:

• Try less, feel more.

• Go chasing waterfalls. Rivers, lakes, oceans, pools…get in them.

• Lather up with coconut oil. Over do it with the rose water spray.

• Eat your water and add salt. Watermelon, cucumber, aloe, coconut water. One of our favorite snacks (below) cools and calms the nervous system- thanks, lavender.

The Lavender- Infused Almond Smoothie 🥤

Roast 3 tablespoons of white or black sesame seeds in a pan and grind in a coffee grinder with 1/16 teaspoon of food grade dried lavender buds. In a blender, combine 1 teaspoon of maple syrup and 1 cup of almond milk. Add 1-2 drops of food grade rose essential oil (optional) and the dry mix. Blend. Enjoy.
